Cookies Policy

Effective April 2026

This page explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on polance.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. We try to use as few as possible — and none for advertising or cross-site tracking.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognise your browser between page loads, remember your preferences, and produce aggregate analytics about how the site is being used.

We try to keep our use of cookies minimal and proportionate. The list below covers everything we set on this site.

2. Cookies we use

We use two categories of cookies:

  • Strictly-necessary cookies — required for the site to function (for example, remembering your dark/light mode preference or holding form state while you complete the contact form). These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
  • Analytics cookies — aggregate, non-identifying signals about how the site is used (page views, approximate region, device type). We use these to understand which content is useful and where we can improve. We do not use them to build cross-site profiles or to target you with advertising elsewhere.

3. What we do not use

  • Third-party advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Cross-site tracking cookies
  • Social-network sharing pixels that read your wider browsing history

4. How to control cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies on a per-site basis. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies on this site may prevent some pages from working as intended.

If your browser supports the “Do Not Track” signal, we honour it for analytics where the underlying provider also honours it.

5. Third-party providers

Where we use third-party providers (for example, our hosting provider's edge-network or our analytics tool), those providers may set their own strictly-necessary or analytics cookies. We choose providers that publish a clear cookies policy of their own and that handle data in line with applicable privacy law.

6. Changes to this policy

If we change the cookies we use on this site, we will update this page and refresh the “Effective” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via a banner notice on the site.
